Overview:
  • Applications for food stamp programs such as CalFresh averaged 7,588 participants per month since January 2014. Since the beginning of 2016, CalFresh applications averaged 7,380 per month with the latest reading from November 2017 showing 6,899 applications, a decrease of 391 applications since October 2017.
  • CalWORKs enrollments in June 2017 reached 1,258 representing an application increase of 89 since May 2017 yet a decrease of 100 since June 2016. Program participation has been relatively steady around these levels since December 2012 averaging about 1,420 monthly enrollments since then.
  • Phone calls, website access, and other types of service requests to Orange County 2-1-1 have increased greatly throughout 2014 and 2015, averaging 21,661 requests since January 2014. November 2017 saw requests total of 22,038 representing a decrease of 2,064 month-over-month yet an increase of 1,626 since November 2016.
